The first couple of times I tried this product, I couldn't get the cork out of the bottle. I just couldn't get the handle to come down in order for the cork screw to pull the cork out. The reason I wanted a new wine opener is that using an old fashioned cork screw was becoming difficult due to arthritis in my fingers. Needless to say, I was very frustrated when I couldn't get it to work and had to ask my husband to do it. I could have done that with the old cork screw. Eventually, I got it to work. But the problem is that getting the cork off the cork screw is very, very difficult and time-consuming. There's a definite design problem with this product. It is well made and sturdy, but maybe requires a brief re-visit to the drawing board. One other issue is that there are no instructions...zero. No instructions at all on how to use the product.

I'm not only impressed with the performance of this wine opener, but also the packaging. It comes in a rounded, acrylic case that makes it look much more expensive than it was. I purchased 3 of these as gifts...I know the people who receive them will be equally as impressed.For the price - you can't go wrong!!
