Background:My parents purchased this style wine opener in a set, and got a 'good deal' in a store somewhere and paid around $35-40ish for it, and after using it on numerous occasions I LOVED it. I decided to get one, and loving Amazon, researched and found many for much less than they had paid, I chose this one as a very inexpensive model, but I surmised it to be of good quality, it had super saver shipping, and it qualified for the "4 for 3" promotion.Actual analysis:The quality of this opener is solid, and up to par with the more costly name brand model. The only thing this did not come with that I would use is a foil cutter, but you can find them for almost nothing separately, or just use your knife (obviously). I recommend this, and endorse it. Love it, good buy.If you are unfamiliar with this style of bottle opener altogether, it is a simple fluid maneuver to drive the corkscrew into a cork, one more to pull the cork out, and then one final to remove the cork from the cork screw. Works almost effortlessly and instantly.

This thing is completely useless. It worked fine for about 10 bottles, then broke. I tried fixing it, it worked for 2 more bottles, then broke again.

Decided to try this when our expensive box set broke....based on reviews from other users, I would agree, this works really well for the price. We haven't had any issues and we've opened about 5-10 bottles already. Seems identical to the opener from the box set we bought 8+ years ago.
