I already own a few of the less expensive Jean Dubost corkscrews but I thought this one would out do the others. I was wrong. It was not made up to the other standards. It slips off if the bottle and is extremely hard to use. I would never use it for service. The opener seems to have been made wider than my others, to accommodate the wider handle. Making the mouth of the opener wider makes it easily slip off the bottle, every time. I am truly disappointed in this in this purchase.

I bought this wine opener when I was a waiter back in 2002. It held up to hard use, opening well over a thousand bottles of wine until I left the profession in 2008. Now I use it for home use. The lever gets loose, which is OK since you can then manipulate the opener one handed. An excellent product and highly recommended for waters and non-waiters alike.

Beautiful, high quality craftsmanship. I just love these Laguiole corkscrews and would like to collect them all. They are a piece of art and very functional to open any bottle of wine. Great gifts but you never want to give them away.
