This is a beautiful bottle opener that I knew my girlfriend would love, and she does--well, the look of it anyway. The problem with this opener is that the nub that slips under the lip of the bottlecap (that little ridge at the top of the beak) is too small and that decreases your leverage. When you try to open a bottle it often slips off the cap and you to have repeat the same prying motion anywhere from 3-6 times before you can actually pop the top off. My other complaint is that I wish the metal were a little thicker. It is stainless, yes, but it couldn't be any thicker than the width of a quarter, which makes it feel a little cheap.It's a shame that poor technical design trumps its aesthetic appeal.
