Nice looking and good quality. It also works well. I have pumped air out from a half-full bottle. It retained the pressure even after 3-4 weeks. The other reviewer was not happy with the stainless steel finish. I read that before I made the purchase then totally forgotten about it. Honestly, I didn't notice any problem with it. The whole things looks shiny and of quality. Definitely no problem with dents/dinks, I guess depends on usage. I just keep it in the drawer with other similar items (bottle and can openers, scissors, etc) with no problem at all.

Even as a hardcore WMF fan, it was hard to decide between getting a well-reviewed, Vacu Vin Stainless Steel Wine Saver Gift Set at $22 or this WMF Vino Wine Pump with no reviews at $35. I wasn't sure if the WMF would function as well as the tried-and-true Vacu Vin.Fortunately, it turns out that this product is actually developed by Vacu Vin, just branded and designed by WMF. (This was written on the box.) Also, the rubber stoppers seem to be normal Vacu Vin stoppers, so I believe you would have no trouble getting replacement stoppers.However, I do not recommend this product. I own a ton of WMF products, but this one doesn't live up to the name. Not even close. First, the handle is made of a low-quality metal that looks pretty cheap and is prone to dings. The body is wrapped in a different kind of metal, not bad but definitely not the super glossy stainless steel you get on other WMF products. I'm guessing this is the same material used on the stainless Vacu Vin (which I have never seen in person).So what you get is a stainless Vacu Vin with a slightly more sophisticated form and a WMF logo, built with less than stunning materials. Is it worth the price difference? I say no.

Before buying the WMF Vino Wine Pump I hesitated because of negative reviews of the quality of its materials. Since I can see no prestige associated with a wine bottle evacuator, appearance is not a concern. Still, I found nothing "cheap" about this product.However, it must function. After shopping rather extensively, I took a chance on this admittedly pricey (for the very simple, mundane function it performs) tool.The pump seats on WMF stoppers much more easily and effectively than did my now-broken plastic WMF pump. Because the piston is smaller than the previous pump it draws out less air per stroke; the lower volume/stroke makes it necessary to apply roughly twice as many strokes as the larger diameter model. I've used it daily, sometimes multiple times a day for about five weeks, frequently evacuating a nearly empty bottle. It works flawlessly, every time.Is it worth the price? That's a question for each individual. For me, it is.
