We were very disappointed with this opener. It broke after opening 4 bottles of wine. It has a lot of cheap plastic parts and feels very flimsy while in use.

Feb,23, 2012. I received this wine opener at Christmas 2011. First opinion was junk. It did not work. The instructions were vague. I finally managed to figure out how this thing worked and from then till now, I was pleased with the operation. Last bottle I opened, The corkscrew bent. I replaced it with the spare that was enclosed with the original packaging. Problem was a broken plastic washer. I tried contacting Houdini via E at two different addresses three times. I have not heard one word from them. I then found their website and warranty information. They want me to pay shipping to them and enclose $7.50 for ship and handling to return it to me. Why should I pay shipping in either direction for a failed product? Warranty states 5 years.It lasted less than two months. So I have down graded this product to less than a paper weight. Just Junk!Less than one star but that is not an option.

I got this item as a Christmas gift and thought it would be great. Tried it several times, I even read the instructions a couple of times and looked at online hints to make sure I was using it correctly. It does nothing but drive the corkscrew into the cork and then it comes right back out without pulling out the cork. It is worthless.
