At first sight this is an attractive piece, and upon picking it up you'll notice it has a hefty weight that feels good in the hand. There's a faint molding line that wasn't buffed out between the head and arm, but the rest is nicely polished... I was certain he would tackle a simple bottle cap with ease, right? Wrong.This drinking buddy falls on his open-mouthed face at the critical point, when he's supposed to be doing his job. For what should be a simple motion, this particular opener requires tedious repositioning around cap to avoid a bent, un-removed cap (see picture). Sure he looks great, and will eventually get your beer right, but as a "drinking buddy," he kinda sucks to drink with.

As someone with a great affection for shiny, chrome plated objects, this little buddy fits the bill. Awesome design, heavy weight, solid and shiny! Looks great propped up on a bar or shelf even when not in use. Like a little work of art! (Reminds me of something Jeff Koons would design.) He's also seems sturdy enough to last a lifetime as the "mouth" is cut so the metal edge is thick and won't bend or break with use.As for the other reviewer who mentioned the issue of not opening the bottle with one easy motion, this is true. You need to reposition him a little, but he can easily open a bottle. Just takes one little pry, then move him over a little on the cap and pry again to pop the top. 2 simple motions. Easy! I love it. Makes an Awesome little gift too...
