This is the easiest corkscrew to use. I haven't had a problem with broken corks or synthetic corks since switching to this. For people with questions about longevity, I've now had this for 8 years and use it regularly. The foil cutter that came with the corkscrew already lost a blade, but the corkscrew is going strong.

So far so good. I have snapped off the screw part of several other kinds of corkscrews and hope this style lasts longer. It should in that it has a smooth "screw" meant to slide through the cork rather than cut into it as thicker, coarser screws do.

I purchased this to replace my Oxo Softworks corkscrew which unexpectedly fell appart. This is quite a bit easier to use although the durability of the plastic body is unknown. You do not need to pull - only twist operation is required to uncork and eject the cork. Very little strength or skill required. Works great but pricy.
