I loved my previous Good Cook Touch WInged Corkscrew -- it looked like the one in the picture here and I used it successfully for years. When an oddly shaped bottle top finally defeated it I immediately ordered the new one (same brand, same look) from Amazon. The one that arrived on time and in good condition had been fancied up a bit from the previous one. After two uses, a bit that looks like a washer and keeps the metal screwy thing firm, fell out of the tube. I managed to wedge it back in, but I can tell it isn't going to last. I still like the way it works (never fails to do its job) but I wish they hadn't changed it --the old one was a reliable workhorse that never fell apart.

I bought this wine corkscrew because my arthritis was making it difficult to use my beloved sommelier-style opener. The ad said it fit every wine bottle--not so. It doesn't seat at all on my favorite wine bottle and always goes in crooked. Additionally, it is not at all easy to turn the handle to get the corkscrew down in, but the cork does come up fairly easily when the wings are pressed down. I don't recommend it.
