A chrome foil cutter and extra spiral are included in the case, which handsomely stores the Rabbit. Award-winning for its innovative design, the Rabbit corkscrew opens any wine bottle in just three seconds. Squeeze the Rabbit's arms around the bottle, push the lever down, pull up, and the cork is out. To remove the cork from the spiral, simply lower and raise the lever again. Hardened all-metal teeth on the gear mechanism ensure that the corkscrew will open up to 20,000 bottles (when the spiral is replaced every 800 to 1,000 pulls). This unit is considerably nicer that the plastic units. It is much more durable and much better looking. It will still have the same problem of the screw portion needing to be replaced on a regular basis (wax kills the Teflon coating). This thing will last forever!

I purchased this product a few years ago. The case is great and opens much easier than the Rabbit I had previously, which was in a zipper case and kind of a pain to get out. The weight of this Rabbit is substantial, the look is very professional, and I would definitely recommend the VIP version over the less expensive models for these reasons. At some point, my Rabbit became very difficult to use, despite changing the worm. I mailed it off to Metrokane for repair per the instructions on the website (not the insert that came with the product, which said I needed a receipt). Unfortunately, there was a screw up in the mailroom, and Metrokane shipped the wrong Rabbit back. I e-mailed Yolanda (contact on the website) about the issue and I'm happy to say that she responded the next business day and told me that she would not only ship me a new VIP Rabbit, but that I could do as I liked with the "mistake" Rabbit. I was very pleased with that level of customer service, which is few and far between these days. My accidental Rabbit will function as a gently used "door prize" at my next wine tasting party. This was our SECOND "rabbit"... indeed, like the first one, it broke after a few months... we're back to using the old-fashioned corkscrews... eventually they break, too, but at least they're not nearly so expensive to replace!
